Cranial work is not one thing

The traditions below overlap, but they involve different training, different licensure and a different hour on the table — so this directory lists them separately rather than collapsing them into a single label. Where a listing names its own tradition, so does its page; where it does not, neither do we.

• Craniosacral therapy

  Upledger lineage (CST-T, CST-D). The most widely practised in the US, and most of this directory.

• Biodynamic craniosacral therapy

  BCST and RCST. A distinct training route and a distinct session.

• Cranial osteopathy

  Sutherland lineage, practised by osteopaths. Not yet represented in the listings here.

• SOT and cranial fascial work

  Sacro-occipital technique and CFR, from the chiropractic tradition. Not yet represented here.

• Craniosacral massage

  Offered by licensed massage therapists as part of bodywork.
